| Hapman conveyors, usa, introducesoffers a new usda-3a dairy approved helix [flexible screw] conveyor designed specifically for the dairy, pharmaceutical and food industries. The conveyor which can be used as a portable or stationary unit and is easy to disassemble for cleaning purposes. Features such as the quick disconnect clamps allow the operator to disassemble and clean the unit in a matter of minutes. In addition, the following features facilitate cleaning: the helix has no exposed threads in the product zone, all surfaces are polished to 180 grit finish, all welds are also polished to a 180 grit finish and then blended into the base metal. The helix utilizes a+f862 variable speed controller to match the output capacity of the conveyor to the process and the . The controller also has a built-in acceleration ramp function to provide an ultrasmooth start-up under full load. A standard low level sensor monitors the amount of material in the receiving hopper and automatically stops the conveyor giving a low-level condition. The helix conveyor can also be equipped with different size conical hoppers ranging from 1 to 15 cubic feet capacity, depending on customer requirements. Inlet agitators and vibrators are available when dealing with materials that tend to bridge or rat-hole. For extremely free flowing, high density materials, hapman conveyorsthe company offers a heavy duty round wire auger in lengths up to 30 feet, otherwise a high capacity flat wire auger is recommendedsuggested. All conveyors can also be equipped with single or multiple inlet and discharge depending upon customer requirements. To eliminate corrosion during the sanitation process, stainless steel wash-down duty motors and gear reducers are used on the helix system with a maximum speed range of 350 rpm. Material is conveyed through a uhmw polyethylene food grade casing to a standard discharge adapter with variable capacities ranging from 1 to 8 cft per minute.
