| Keith electronics offers an ultrasonic leakage inspection system, ph-111, from mec. This model comes with a unique technology, requires no sound proof chamber, is portable and compact [total weight of about 3.5 kg] run on a 9 v battery, and can detect pin holes with and without touching the object to he inspected. Its sensitivity can be freely adjusted with a dial and not much influenced by external noise. The ng lamp and buzzer indicate when a leakage is detected. The sensitivity allows the detection of air-leakage from about a 4 metre distance of 0.15 mm diameter pin-hole under the 0.4 kg/cm2 difference in pressure. The sensitivity can be adjusted by the dial knob freely in accordance with the environment. The time required for detection and judgment is approximately 0.15 to 0.3.Sec. The instrument not only shortens the test time but also provides a stable detection ability which is not affected by the variation of temperature. It has solved various problems which were common with traditional methods, used for the same purpose. With this system, the inspection is possible under dry conditions without any contact. Since this is independent of human judgement the judging time is reduced significantly.
