Alfa laval manufactures alpacon multi cip which is a water based, non hazardous cleaning liquid containing biogen active acid mixture made from renewable raw materials for lube and fuel oil separators. The cleaning liquid can be applied for degreasing and cleaning of stainless steel, brass and other metals and also to clean lube and fuel oil separator bowls and removal of sludge deposits containing organic and inorganic substances. The alpacon multi cip cleaning liquid functions by using cip [cleaning in-place]and the deposits can be removed without dismantling the separator or heater. The liquid is especially intended for use with alfa laval cip-unit. The directions of use is normal mixing ratio for fuel oil is 1 part multi cip to 4 parts of water; normal mixing ratio for lube oil is 1 part multi cip to 14 parts of water or down to 7 parts of water for heavily contaminated systems. The company suggests this liquid to be used in 70-90°c temperature and according to the transport reglations the liquid is not hazardous. The cleaning liquid for lube & fuel oil separators should be stored at 0-50°c.
