| Advance petrochemicals ltd offers a wide range of products for automobile industry. The company supplies ethylene glycol monomethyl ether under the brand name of apisolve 76. It is a reaction product of ethylene oxide and methanol. In the field of chemistry it is known as methyl glycol, 2-methoxy ethanol,1-methoxy-2-hydroxyethene or methyl [2-hydroxyethyl]. Methyl cellosolve is the commercial name of this product. It acts as an excellent solvent for the various resins & paste etc. It has wide application in aviation industry as fsii - dicing - anti icing agent. It is always mixed with apitol due its instant absorbing capacity. It is applied to stain wood and dying of leather. It does not attack rubber. It comes with following specification: appearance --clear, bright and free from solid matter, colour, platinum-cobalt --10.0 max. , specific gravity 20/20 ºc --0.963 - 0.967, distillation--initial boiling point, dry point--123.5ºc min.125.5ºc max.
Ph of 25% solution in water 25 ± 2 ºc --6.0 to 7.0, flash point [ºc] --43ºc min, water content % --0.15 max. , molecular weight --76.1, acidity % w/w [as acetic acid]-- 0.01 max, viscosity at 20 ºc --1.7 cps. It is available in 50 & 190 kgs. M.S./hdpe drum.
