The cotton material is a rough, ribbon-shaped fiber with a large surface area and has high dirt-holding capacity features that make an excellent filter media. Cotton wound filter cartridges are available with all-bleached processed cotton that is a natural fiber with no finishes. These cotton wound filter cartridges are suitable to operate at 121°c temperature. The cotton wound filter cartridges offers true depth filtration through hundreds of tapered filtering passages of controlled size and shape. The diagonal winding of roving on a center core of the cotton wound filter cartridges makes it firm interlocking weave results preventing channeling and by passing, and reduces fiber migration. As the cotton wound filter cartridges are wound, each layer of roving is napped to increase filtration capabilities and adds to true depth filtration by trapping its share of particles.
