| Industrial gear corporation offers shaft mounted speed reducers. These are compact, totally enclosed and designed for direct mounting on the drive shaft of the equipment to be driven. The direct mounting principle ensures positive and permanent alignment of the speed reducers and the driven machine that allows convenient location of the motor, reducing space requirement and layout problems. It also eliminates the foundation. These shaft mounted speed reducers provide unlimited installation flexibility, and they are to be mounted with a tie rod. They are made to suit any position requirement and to satisfy a wide range of output speeds and hp requirements. These speed reducers include hardened, precision machined alloy steel helical gears mounted on micro-finished shafts supported on long-life precision bearings with a capacity to handle maximum loading. They are encased in two-piece close-grained ci housing, which provides sturdy support and insures permanent accurate alignment of all components. These shaft mounted speed reducers are metric in design and agma standards have been adopted wherever required. They come in 5 different sizes and have gear ratios of 5:1, 13:1 and 20:1. These are useful in areas like materials handling equipment [conveyors, elevators]; cement, coal, steel and engineering industries; textile processing, sugar mills, food processing and dairy plants, drugs pharmaceutical plants and printing machinery.
