| Pec provides high head multistage boiler feed pumps. These feed pumps are available in two designs: lateral channel, and centrifugal. Bpf series lateral channel pumps are regenerative type. Following are some technical features of these feed pumps which include: hydraulics are designed for relatively high efficiency; have very low npshr-value, and can work against suction lift of 8 metres. Self priming characteristic of these pumps make it possible to handle fluid with air or gas, even de-air suct pipeline as long as 100 m; are closed tolerance precision grade pumps. There are some of the hardware features of these feed pumps which include: pump suction, intermediate and delivery casings are manufactured from closed, grain cast iron. Fully open impeller is of manganese bronze, and shaft is made of aisi-410 ss; pumps are available with both oval and round raised face flanges. All the stage casings are fitted in a cage like construction through ht steel tie rods. To suit the liquid to be pumped, various materials of construction are available. Smaller pumps for duty up to 60m head and 60°c temperature are provided with one side bush bearing and drive side ball bearings. For higher duty specifications, they are provided with both sides ball bearings and stuffing boxes. Pumps are also available with mechanical seals. Direction of rotation either clockwise or anticlockwise is possible. Hcf series pumps are similar in a construction to bpf series pumps but with a difference that these pumps are available with side-suction and impellers are of centrifugal closed type. They can have maximum suction lift of 7 metres. Some general specifications include: rpm is 1450 for low wear; bpf series pumps are available for heads up to 280 m, in capacities up to 900 lpm and temperature up to 100°c where suction pressure is below 0.6 kg/cm2; ischarge water is fed to suction side stuffing box for prevention of entry of air, through the gland box. These feed pumps find their applications in: handling fresh water, condensate, fuel oil and other hot or cold but clear liquids. These pumps also find their applications in: water supply to multistorey buildings, factories, transfer of liquids containing air or gas lpg plants, sprinklers, water-spraying, irrigation, mining, pressure-boosting, curing water for building construction, high pressure water sealing, washing equipments, fire fighting, boiler feeding, hot water/oil circulation, and reverse osmosis applications.
