Polytronics has specially developed linearised peak hold indicators to measure high temperatures of molten metal furnaces. Salient features: large display enables operator to read the readings clearly from longer distances; a peak reading when reached, is automatically held permanently on display till manually reset; and an audio sound is generated simultaneously signalling the operator to remove the sensor out of furnace. Thus life of the sensor can be prolonged. The same operator after removing the sensor can go where the remotely placed indicator is and note down the automatically held peak reading. Self-calibration check is an added feature provided. Throughout the range of 0 to 1700°c, an accuracy of ±1°c is claimed and possible due to microprocessor based linearisation technique. Optionally, rs-232/485 communication output can be provided.
