Southern auto castings manufactures of camshafts and other valve train components. The company makes valve train engine components such as camshafts, cam followers [valve tappet] and rocker arm from chilled grey iron/ ductile iron/harden able grey and ductile iron for diesel and gasoline engines used in automotive, truck, tractor, marine, power generators, industrial and agricultural applications. The company claims to have a well- trained staff and skilled committed work force of around 300 fully trained workers being employed in the foundry and the machining division. The foundry division is equipped with induction melting system, bmd and dina moulding machine, fully mechanized green sand system, four station automatic shell molding machine and a capacity of 1.20 million camshafts per annum, 60.00 million cam followers per annum and 2.40 million rocker arms per annum. The machining division is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology with the latest machines like cnc cam lobe grinders with in-process gauges. The machining division has a production capacity of 360,000 fully machined camshafts per annum and all machining operations are done in-house to ensure high quality standards. The second machining division machining division manufactures fully machined cam followers [valve tappets] and is equipped cnc cylindrical grinding machine, dome grinding machine, cnc lathes, tapping machine, surface grinders, etc. The capacity of this facility is 840,000 fully machined cam followers [valve tappets] per annum. Clientele includes ashok leyland, kirloskar oil engines, mahindra &mahindra, simpson, tata and auto ancillaries such as autolec industries and many more.
