High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line is a simultaneous full duplex transmission Scheme which derives substantial capacity advantage in transporting digital signal in the Local Networks over existing copper pairs. High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line equipment provides 64 kbps Channels, supporting Voice, Fax and Data services while matching fiber quality transmission performance. A complete High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line system consists of two terminal equipment called central office Terminal [COT] and 2/3 nos. Of Remote Terminals [RT] connected by 2/3 pairs of wire. The A2 /B2 category supports point-to-multi point transportation of 30 channels of 2W POTs, Hotlines and 64 kbps Co directional circuits. Category A2 utilizes a two pairs duplex operating system transporting at a bit rate of 1168 kbps bi-directionally over each of the two pairs in parallel while category B2 utilizes a three pairs duplex operating system with a reduced bit rate of 784 kbps transported bi-directionally over each of the three pairs in parallel. High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line cover around 3.5/3.75 kms on 0.5 mm unshielded twisted copper pairs.
