It is designed for clean, smooth and accurate cutting of mild and low alloy carbon steel plates up to 90 mm thickness. This lightweight and versatile unit is easy to operate and is best suited for straight line, bevel and circular cuttings. The circle cutting attachment consists of a radius bar, and weight block with a centre. It can be fixed from either side of the machine. The machine can cut circles from 75 mm to 1200 mm diameters. For straight cutting, the machine runs on an aluminum-extruded track of 1.8 metre length. Oxy-1 has a high performance universal type dynamically balanced drive, which consists of a 1/20 hp, ac/dc motor for 220/240 v, 50 hz of electric supply. The motor is mounted with a compact gearbox of ratio 1:288. Specially designed heavy-duty injector type cutting torch prevents backfire, it works on oxygen and acetylene/lpg with appropriate nozzles. The torch holder assembly enables vertical and horizontal movement of the torch. Adjustment for bevel cutting from 0 to 45 deg can also be made easily. The system is simple and convenient. The speed of oxy-1 can be set instantly and accurately by an indexed speed selector knob, which is conveniently located at the front and underneath the handle. Its forward/off/reverse toggle switch is located just below the speed control knob for easy and quick operation. The speed of the machine can be varied from 80 to 800 mm/min to suit the nature of cutting.
