Inventa electro systems has introduced solid state relays. They are semiconductor relays often known as ssr. This contactless relay has capacity of high speed & high frequency of switching operation. Essentially, it is observed that mechanical contacts do fail if the operation per day speed is very high. Mechanical & electrical endurance takes the life out of mechanical contacts. Solid state relay incorporates solid state contact that is an ideal solution for the same. Ideally the contact life gets extended to infinity incase of ideal design [heat exchange], over current protections and transients over voltages. Unlike relays, a solid state relay has isolation between input [conventionally named as coil] & output contact. This isolation is of higher range i.E. Generally 2500 v ac, but could be maximum of 4000 v ac as an option. Input /output module is available in ranges of 8/16/24/32 modules rack pcb. Reverse phasing ssr- for reversing of the 3 phase motors, 3 phase ssr/ starters are the main products.
Uses of these solid state relay are as follows;
Due to high contact life, ssrs are useful in microprocessor based control systems, ovens, cnc machines, xerox machines, packaging machines, process control equipments, medical equipments and traffic signaling equipments.
Due to sparkless switching, ssrs are useful in mining equipments, flameproof starters and switching operation in flame hazardous areas
