Andrew yule & company presents 11 kv oil immersed load break switch in extensible / non extensible pattern perfect for indoor/outdoor installations. The on-load isolator has an oil chamber, which houses the switch and air chamber where the mechanism is fitted. It has three positions: earth on and off . The mechanism gives a quick break operation to all positions. It has quick-make and quick-break features and speed of make and break are independent of the operator. A three phase set of test spikes is provided when needed for testing of cables. These spikes are inserted through a fully interlocked test access point in the top cover. The switch is rated for 630 a at 11 kv system and the rated short time current is 20 ka for 3 sec. The switch complies in all respect with the requirement of is:9920 and performance reports have been obtained from an independent testing laboratory. This oil switch can be used for 3.3 kv and 6.6 kv voltage systems in addition to11 kv. It can also be used as an independent unit or can be coupled with yule make switch fuse units to form a ring main unit (rmu).
