| Francis klein & co suppliesoffers overrunning clutches and holdbacks. These holdbacks are manufactured manufactured by stieber-precision pvt ltd, a new joint venture between stieber-forms gmbh, germany and precision transmatic devices, satara [maharashtra] to manufacture overrunning clutches and backstops. The manufacturing is aas per stieber and formsprag [usa] design the manufacturing is done.. At satara bboth sprag and roller type backstops and freewheels are manufactured at satara. Different types of models are used for various application such as; roller type units are used for low to medium speed overrunning and indexing application while sprag freewheels are used for high speed overrunning and holdback application. Due to centrifugal action, ddepending on the design sprag lift off from one of the race due to centrifugal action.The torque range is from 10 nm to 780,000 nm. In some cases sspecial indexing clutches are provided supplied with carbide insert which goes up to 700 indices per minute, machine working on 3 shifts per day in some cases. Various some of the typical applications of the clutches include; are dual drive for fans and blowers, crawler/starter drive, inclined conveyor, pumps, bucket elevators, press working, printing machines, gearboxes, high frequency indexing ball header mechanism, etc.
