The high speed imaging mid-infrared spectrometer, es 100 is the latest attraction from n n consultancy services.The latest in the spectrometer series is this instrument. This can acquire spectra at 6250 hz catering an instant snap shot of the process. The mid range [1.30 to 4.8 microns or 7692 - 2083 cm-1] operations provide strong signals and insensitivity to the influnces of the environment. User supplied samples can be calibrated much ahead of time and incorporated into the chemo-metric software of the instrument rendering tedious and repeated process calibration. The lead selenide array detector has a mean time between failures [mtbf] of 100,000 hours. The detector uses an inbuilt thermoelectric cooler and doesnt employ cryogenic cooling. The es 100"s unique features are: smallest and fastest mid-infrared imaging spectrometer; two dimensional scanner for hyperspectral imaging; and single shot spectra obtained at 7 khz and updated at 1320 hz. The application range for the es 100 is very wide: quality control, process monitoring, combustion research, emissions monitoring, fire detection, temperature measurement, thermal imaging, gas analysis, moisture measurement, coating quality inspection, surface defect detection, plastic identification, water quality monitoring, grain analysis, glucose monitoring, food inspection, drug dissolution testing, blend homogeneity etc. Space application research, petrochemicals, power plants are some of the fields this is extremely useful.
