| Magnafield offers magnaport 1000 mk3 which is an electromagnet crack detector and can be designed for use as a portable unit normally supplied for table mounting and can be lifted by handle by a single person. The accessories of these crack detectors are contained in sturdy can vas bag. The company supplies these crack detectors with special box type trolley with locking arrangement for accessories is available as an optional accessory and a pram type trolley for easy manoeuvrability is also available. The crack detectors are ideal to detect all surfaces and sub-surface cracks up to 6 mm depth in ferro-magnetic objects of any shape and size. Demagnetisation both manual and automatic is achieved by the coil method by forming high current cable into a coil of suitable diameter. These crack detectors are provided with a facility for remote control operation and automatic mode of demagnetization. The crack detectors find applications in detection of cracks in welds and castings, longitudinal and traverse cracks in shafts, bars, billets and tubes, longitudinal and radial cracks in hollow components such as bearing races, gears and gudgeon pins, peripheral cracks in hollow components such as bearing races, gears. These crack detectors can successfully demagnetize large components by positioning them vertically and pulling out the coil starting at the bottom and right out of the top, to a safe distance while ac is passing through the coil. In this mode of operation the component remains at site and current decrement takes place automatically on momentarily pressing a push button.
