| Kistler extrusion sensors are characterised by their extremely robust diaphragm and a measurement principle which enables the pressure to be transmitted directly to the measuring element, ie, without any transmission media such as mercury, oil or mechanical elements. A new product family, which is completely compatible with all marketable strain gauge-sensors, has been developed on this basis. Strain gauge-sensors can thus be replaced quite simply in practice by types 4086a and 4087a sensors, whereby it is also possible to perform an 80% calibration in the customary manner with the existing electronic equipment or the new digital panel indicator from kistler. With types 4096a and 4097a, sensors are also available with an amplified output signal of 0-10 v dc and 4-20 ma. The transmitter types can be supplied selectively with rigid or flexible shafts, combined with a type-j thermocouple, an absolutely tight sensor plug for the-extrusion of food [p 67] and also with explosion proof rating. An amplifier, type 4620a for optimum accuracy, which was developed originally for du pont de nemours, is also being introduced into the market. This amplifier operates on a digital basis with high scanning frequencies and is driven with standard extrusion sensor from kistler, the individual data of which can be read in via a serial interface.
