| Fine spavy associates & engineers manufactures the micro vickers hardness tester [model fmv-1]. Applications are : finished components [thin sheets, fine wires, etc]; watch parts like springs, pivot bearings, gears, cutting edge of razor blades, drills, file teeth, metallic foils, surgical needles, pen points, etc; study of surface coatings like electroplated coatings, extremely thin case hardened parts, anodized castings of aluminium, shot blasting or rolled faces; heat treatment effects like tempering of steel, hardness of visible precipitated particles, hardness of austenitic and martensitic areas, homogenization treatment; and, alloy constitutional problems, [micro indentation tests in study of equilibrium diagram], mutually soluble/insoluble materials, hardness of complex carbides and hardness of components of microstructure. Salient features of this hardness tester are : perfectly balanced main lever supported on fine knife edges to render high accuracy even it very small loads; load application, holding the load for some time and release of load is automatically done by means of a combination of levers and damper; the time for holding the load can be adjusted; a precision diamond indentor isused to make sharp indentations; x-y stage can move the job as per requirement; a range of test loads can be used to suit particular application; loads smaller than 100 gm are directly placed on the pan fixed on main lever; loads greater than 200 gm are placed on the hanger attached to main lever; and, magnification from 125x to 625x available.C
