| The quality and reliability of aluminium alloy castings can be improved if the hydrogen content of the melt is controlled. As aluminium alloys absorb hydrogen in the liquid state, porosity will take place in the castings if it is not removed. Therefore, an accurate measurement of hydrogen in the melt before casting is required to ensure that degassing operations attain the specified quality acceptance value.
