| Logicon offers infrared heating systems. It has diverse applications in industry. They are generally used for drying, curing of surface coatings, leather processing, product finishing, ceramicware, baking varnish on motor windings, electronic printed circuit boards, drying adhesives in packaging, dehydrating vegetables and fruits, food processing industry, drying glue in lumber and fibre boards, preheating plastics prior to forming, drying printing inks, curing moulded rubber, heating rubber lamination, textile printing and dehydration in sanforizing process in textile industry, and bonding in non-woven fabrics. Precise controls on process parameters are essential and are being done to achieve an excellent end product . Infrared curing and drying lend themselves to accurate process controls besides having distinct advantages such as easy operator control, fast curing times, low maintenance costs and over 50% less floor space in comparison with conventional systems. Every material has a specific wavelength wherein maximum energy absorption takes place. Infrared radiation can be monitored to correspond with the maximum wavelength of the material to be processed which results in optimal energy consumption and superior end products. Infrared radiation with wavelengths corresponding to emitter temperatures, can be accurately measured, controlled and applied to the product. Long wave, medium wave and short wave infrared energy may all be used, in part or in whole in the drying and curing processes, the most efficient type of energy being determined by the actual process requirements.
