Hardness testers from sms come in 6 categories. Rockwell measurement is , by direct reading. Brinell measurement is done using brinell microscope. The loading is by means of proportionate weights and lever. The load application is by hand or by a load selector and does not need any outside motive power. The load application is controlled by dashpot mechanism thus avoiding shock or jerk. Specifications: load range - 60-100-150 kg; one-diamond indentor with 120º cone angle and 0.2 mm tip radius; one - 1/16" dia. Steel ball indentor; a set of hrc and hrb test plates; testing table of 50 mm dia and v-shaped support for round bars up to 30 mm dia; one-bottle of dashpot oil, allen key and one instruction manual.
