The instrument is equipped with four selectable test voltages of 100/250/500/1,000 v dc available with auto-ranging resistance range up to 2000 mohm thus combining the ranges of almost 12 conventional hand cranking insulation testers. The d-266 will find its application in electrical contacting, domestic as well as industrial, dot, defence, cable manufacturers, transformers and motor manufacturers, etc. The insutester is ideal for testing insulation resistance of transformers, motors, generators, switchgears, cables, power tools, etc, as well a fixed wiring systems. By virtue of its capability to take fast readings it is well suited to test relays, switches and contactors. It can also be used for qa checks of pcbs, capacitors and other insulating and dielectric materials. The terminal voltage is more than 90% of rated voltage for insulation measurements from 10 to 100% of resistance range.
