Span associates has introduced a coolant and oil-chilling unit. This chilling unit is useful in applications like precise grinding, gun drilling and thread grinding, etc. In precise grinding operations coolant temperature has to be maintained at 18°c to 20° c by refrigeration. In gun drilling, oil temperature is important for cutting tool life. The oil-chilling unit maintains the temperature of oil between 30°c to 40°c resulting in increased cutting edge life. The chilling unit is also used for controlling temperature of oil in power packs. The unit includes refrigeration compressor, condenser, evaporator or heat exchanger, electronic temperature controller, control panel and safety devices.
