Cooper gear tooth chamfering and rounding machine [gtcr], model gtc-200, is supplied by the premier automobiles. It has been manufactured as a competitive product to fulfill the specific need of the automobile industry. Gtcr is useful for chamfering in addition to rounding of external and internal gears. The spindle is indexed by an ac servo meter through cnc for each tooth. This eliminates the need of index plate and mechanical indexing arrangement. Two cutter heads are placed on the side of the bed for simultaneous chamfering of two flanks of the tooth. A separate 1.5 kw ac motor drives each cutter with a stepless speed variation of 1200 to 5000 rpm. An ac servo motor empowers the z axis to control rapid traverse speed and rapid return of work spindle slide with precise positioning. The machine is suitable to use carbide tools with replaceable inserts. Quick cutter positioning for each type of workpiece is possible. Gantry type loading and unloading robot can be offered. Brief specifications are as given below:
- maximum work-piece diameter = 200 mm;
- module = 1 to 4; and
- number of teeth = 1 to 100.
