Manual pallet changer allows vmc users to load and set up work on the offline pallet while the machining of parts mounted on active pallet located on a machining centre table is in process. Most of the vmc users tend to associate mpc with long production runs. However, because of the ability to handle the job set up off-line, they are equally effective in shorter runs. The mpc is designed to reduce spindle down time by allowing near continuous production since all fixturing is handled ahead of time and especially off-line. Mpc is available for new as well as existing machines. As a manually operated unit, it requires no electrical power, or any other complicated hydraulic or pneumatic system. The basic unit is consisting of a stand, which can house 2 pallets, a pallet transfer cart and a pallet receiver to be mounted on vmc table. The entire transfer system uses roller bearings making pallet transfer smooth, easy and quick. Pallets are supplied with standard t-slots for easy work piece or work holding device mounting. Pallet positioning at receiver end is on multipoint taper teeth to ensure excellent pallet positioning repeatability. Users can have additional spare pallets for additional set-ups for dedicated fixturing for repetitive jobs. Mpc is available in two models to suit vmc table size and axes travel, pallet size of 550 x 300 mm and 600 x 400 mm are very common to suit the broad range of vmc table sizes. Mpc 6040 pallet can take the load of 200 kg and can offer clamping force of 2,500 kgf. Pallets are of 20 m flatness offering pallet change repeatability of 0.005 mm.
