Insta controls, pune manufactures temperature sensible thermistor protection unit model tpu 01 din which can protect transformers and electrical machines. The company supplies these thermistor protection unit comprising of ptc thermistors and an electronic relay unit.
one set of thermistor consisting of 3 thermistors in series for three phase transformers/motors, 1 thermistor per phase can be connected to the tpu 01 din with the response temperature depending on thermistors. The relay unit will not get actuated as long as temperature is not attained.
the company supplies the unit with set of thermistors wired to the terminals and when the temperature of the equipment exceed tripping temperature the relay is released. Again the relay is actuated when the temperature reduces below safe level of tripping temperature.
in a series upto 9 ptc thermistors can be wired. The protection unit detects the resistance increase and the equipment is switched off as soon as one sensor reaches critical temperature.
