These helical flexible coupling are used mainly in couplings, u-joints or precision springs to meet specific needs. One of the advantageous feature of this helical flexible coupling includes that multiple features can be incorporated into a single part, eliminating the cost involved in purchasing and assembling two or more parts. This results in increased system performance and product efficiencies and lower overall costs. Designing and manufacturing just those part features that are necessary to benefit the system results in a lower-cost part that performs better than a catalogue product. In spring application, the flexures provide precise elastic performance in compression, extension, torsion, lateral displacement models. Used as flexible couplings or u-joints, the fixture utilises its curved beam to transmit torque or motion while compensating for lateral, axial and angular misalignment movements. It also enables customer-specified end-attachments, such as tangs, clamps, flanges and threaded ends to be integrated into a single, multi-functional component. These couplings find applications in petrochemicals, instrumentation, encoders, tacho generators, lead screws, ball screws, air cooling units, pumps, machine tools, cnc machines, aerospace and aircraft industries, duplicators, stepping motors, feedback devices, medical conveyor systems, computer peripherals, wind power generators and other areas. The helical is suitable for capacities from fractional hp to 1,000 hp at 3,600 rpm and shaft size from 3 to 40 mm and above. |
