Ifm electronics offers fail safe sensors. Fail-safe sensors approved up to tüv category 4, sil 3 and pl e, do not require a special counterpart but switch directly on the door or a stainless steel or mild steel target. Fail-safe inductive sensors are wear-free and largely independent from mounting tolerances after a longer use of the doors.
