| Tufaloy 1200 x is a unique anti-wear electrode developed by diffusion especially for surfacing of manganese steels and applications involving heavy impact loads, rolling friction, and abrasion. Due to its unique chemistry, the deposits are free from inter granular carbides making the deposits highly ductile with high strength. The matrix is austenitic-free from carbides and crack resistant. It is rapidly work hardening from 220-250 bhn to 500-500 bhn under heavy impact loads. The major applications include crusher and excavation equipments, mantles, bowl liners in mines and quarries, railway points, crossings and switches, and mill hammers. Procedure: gouge/grindout fatigued metal, use short stringer beads. Base metal is to be cooled immediately to avoid carbide formation and embrittlement. Monitor the base metal temperature within 200° throughout. Hot peening and chilling of weld beads is preferred immediately. Buffer layer of diffusaloy 6180 is recommended for heavy sections of hadfield steel.
