Acrabond adhesives provides a range of locking and retaining compounds. Specially designed resins [monomers] prevents vibrational loosening and seals against leakages and corrosion. These are used especially in automobile, mechanical and electrical applications. Locking and retaining compounds find application for locking of bolts, fixing of co axial components such as bearings pulley, shafts, cylinder liners, etc. Load transmission characteristics of cylindrical joints are increased, reducing stresses and equipment downtime costs.
Thread locking compounds are availablein four grades: grade 20 - medium viscosity, low strength; grade 24 - medium strength; grade 26 - high strength, high temperature type; and grade 28 - very low viscosity penetrating grade adhesive. Retaining compounds are available in two grades: grade 34 - medium strength, low viscosity; and grade 38 - very high strength retention up to 28 n/mm˛ on steel components. Also available is hydraulic and pneumatic sealant, grade 92, a low viscosity sealant developed for threaded pneumatic and hydraulic fittings and structural bonding grade sa 266, a very high strength acrylic based impact resistant, non rigid type structural adhesive.
