| Intelmac offers machining centres from hitachi seiki, japan. Their product range include a wide range of cnc lathes, vertical machining centres and horizontal machining centres. The vertical machining centre vm-50 features high spindle speeds and high rapid traverse rates. Further, the acceleration time of 0.15 sec to obtain maximum feed rate enables cutting feed rates up to 15 m/min. These features superimposed on a high precision machine contribute to get the best results in tool room applications as well as for productive machining of moulds, dies and other precision parts the company has also developed specialized software, which helps to control the acceleration/ deceleration of the slides while machining critical profiles. The machines feature a unique, integrated double column construction. The design is robust, typically seen in large double column machines. Compared to a normal c-frame construction, which includes a cross-slide for the x- and y-axes movements, the vm machine separates these two axes slides due to its unique design. Thus it greatly improves the rigidity. This design also assures that table and milling head carriage are fully supported throughout their travel with no overhang. The ram type milling head construction makes sure the least overhang between the spindle centreline and the z-axis guideways as compared to traditional c-frame construction. This results in overall better rigidity. In line with the current machining centre technologies, the hitachi vm includes a built-in motor for the main spindle. These and many other standard features make it the useful machine for tool room or production application.
