| Spantech engineers manufactures air cleaning bag filters. Applications: bag filters as air cleaning systems are used for material recovery and pollution control in all industries handling fine solids, e.G., cement, metallurgical, chemical, pharmaceutical, etc; and for metal treatment such as sand and shot blasting, powder coating, material transfer, etc, in the engineering and construction industries. Mode of operation: in majority of bag filters used in industry today, cleaning is done by using compressed air whose pressure is released in the nozzle at the top of the bag and due to this expansion energy, the solids collected at the outside of the bag are blown away and fall into the collection hopper. But when compressed air pressure is suddenly released, its temperature falls sharply [joule-thompson effect] resulting in condensation of oil and water into the bag, leading to product contamination and caking. Consequently, one has to incur additional costs due to more frequent bag replacement. A filter in the airline does not help, because it can remove only liquids and solids but not oil and water vapour. The only solution to the above problem is installation of an air dryer with oil removal filter. The company has developed small capacity dryers, which can be installed on the bag filter itself. The unit is weatherproof [side panels in the picture have been removed for showing internals] to suit the dusty environment prevailing near the bag filter. It is not expensive - its cost can be recovered very quickly from savings of reduced bag replacement. Eliminating product contamination is an added benefit.
