Rathi transpower pvt ltd introduces cone-flex couplings [lovejoy type rc/rct], that has sets of resilient rings with pins and nuts along with two flanged hubs of graded cast iron. Thesse rings are specifically shaped to allow rubber to deflect in all direction and give over four times torsional flexibility as compared to a plain bush. The cone-flex couplings can be easily assembled and disassembled with pins removed, the equipment can run independently for no load. Flanged hubs can be withdrawn upwards without disturbing original alignment. The con-flex couplings do not require lubrication of any kind. Other features include: high torque capacity for compact size and low weight; no complicated mechanism to demand adjustment or maintenance; and reduces vibrations and noise arising from sever torque fluctuations. Inspection and replacement of the rings is easy and allows quick fitting without dismantling or moving either of coupled shafts. Only the wear part is low-cost. The cone-flex rings make coupling economical in the long run. They are suitable in ambient temperature up to 70 c.
