The diameters of these broaches ranging from 10 to 200 mm and lengths of these broaches are up to 2.5 m. These broaches are made of special tool material from the best steel producers of europe. Specific heat-treatment is done under strictly controlled conditions to manufacture these broaches. In recent times these broaches are manufactured with inserts in tungsten-carbide or sintered steel together with pvd-coating at the finishing end. This special configuration ensures to broach heat-treated materials, or those materials, which cannot be machined by the usual hss tool.
