Regular checks on diesel engine crankshaft and distance between crank webs in different crank position are important and are familiar with most engineers. Alignment checks from the dial gauge are time-consuming, unpleasant and dirty and give uncertain accuracy. Prisma technik is a swedish manufacturing company that has introduced this electronic digital deflection indicator to make tasks much easier and improve accuracy drastically. The crankshaft deflection indicator system is portable, simple to use, reliable and possibility of printing and downloading the resultant readings. The company provides this deflection indicator in a basic model with no internal memory and an advanced model with storing printing and down loading. Some of the technical specifications of the crankshaft deflection indicator include 89 to 565 mm measurement distance; +2,015 to -2,015 mm measuring range; and 180-600 mm diameter special ovality kit for cylinder liner wear and ovality measurement is good compliment to crank shaft deflection system. The crankshaft deflection indicator system makes task of all marine engineers, diesel manufacturers, shipyards, engine repair shops and all maintenance engineers for better engine maintenance.
