The Constant Voltage Transformers are used for obtaining AC supply within very close tolerance from fluctuating mains. CVT Systems are based on static, magnetic [Ferro Resonant] principle. The magnetic core at the secondary winding is saturated, whereas the flux in the primary magnetic circuit is unsaturated. A special resonance circuit at the output is used to tune the output at a frequency very close to 50 Hz. This results in instantaneous voltage regulation and elimination of transients and spikes, maintaining sine-wave output and high galvanic isolation between input and output.
