| Ravjeet cnc gear-honing machine is designed to precision hone the flanks of teeth on hardened gears. Salient characteristics are high productivity and simplicity of operation, aligned to give the best possible noise levels, as demanded by automobile manufacturer today. The machine was developed with high stiffness of the design being the main criterion. Advantages are: highest stiffness in all sub assemblies, high rates of stock removal, short machining times, correction of inaccuracies from pre-machining, and large spectrum of applications. It is a low cost international standard machine to finish the gears after hardening to have better surface finish and geometrical accuracies. These machines are capable of improving quality of the gears in following order: surface finish [8 micro inch can be attained if required]; can remove nicks [not damaged tooth]; tooth alignment error [helix angle]; and, tooth profile error. This honing process can improve slightly the following parameters: total composite error, tooth to tooth composite error and radial runout. The machine is designed to accept all two wheeler, car and lcv gears. Soft gears can be honed with appropriate grade of honing wheel. Unlike shaving, the honing operation does not introduce stresses and hence reduces the possibility of heat treatment distortion.
