Following are some electrical features of these resistance boxes which include: to meet the stringent accuracy, stability and reliability requirements, the manganin wires have been used to construct standard resistors for accuravy 0.05 per cent and 0.01 per cent respectively. Further the gold plated switches have been employed in the best grade of decade resistance boxes to provide very low contact resistance with drift-free values up to 2,00,000 operations. The economical models carry silver alloy and brass switches with silver plating providing 1,00,000 operation soft drift-free values.
