| P m & co has manufactured a roll attachment for cnc engraving machines. The attachment makes cnc engraving on cylindrical surfaces possible. It installs directly onto the job table of the engraving machine. It consists of a job holding chuck and fixed centre for job setting. The centre can be moved on a parallel guide and can be set to suite the job length. A stepper motor drives the chuck using a precision worm wheel. Maximum job holding size of the attachment is ø100 mm x 300 [l] mm. Load capacity on this chuck is 10 kg. The attachment gives a positioning resolution of 15 arc minutes. The attachment connects directly to one of the axis drives, thus negating the requirement of a separate drive. Cylindrical jobs planned by any cad package like a-cad or corel draw can be run on the attachment. This attachment improves the application of the cnc engraving machines for the die making and jewellery industry. Engraving of trophies, cups, scrolls, hand wheels, dials, special cams, transfer screws, etc, are possible with this attachment.
