Balluff india manufactures luminescence sensors which are optical sensors registering target object or actual desired object features. Markings are applied to the object to be sensed when this is not possible. But when no visible markings are allowed on the object, invisible markings such as fluorescent materials have to be used. Luminescence sensors are designed especially for this purpose. The balluff luminescence sensor [blt] comes well equipped with modern uv led so that no external uv lamp is required and the signal processing is done by a teach in process with a microprocessor. The blt learns the difference between fluorescent marking and the background by pressing mark and bkgr corresponding buttons. An error signal reports if the difference is too slight and not reliably distinguishable. These luminescence sensor can sensor 9 to 18 mm sensing distance and can extended to between 15 and 30 mm by using an additional lens.
