Non destructive testing is done with the most basic method called visual inspection. The primary problem encountered with visual evaluation has always involved in limits of accessibility to the inspection areas. Machida offers flexible fibre optic instruments designed to reach into remote areas and perform reliable, efficient examinations. Some of the areas in which fibre optic inspection systems work include aerospace, aviation, automotive, casting, refining, petrochemicals, nuclear and power generation. One of machidas most recent advances is the small diameter modular borescope. The combination of detachable eyepiece, light guide, and nine small diameter [0.6 mm to 2.0 mm] interchangeable probes creates a versatile borescope system. Knob type borescope with 8 mm to 11 mm insertion tube with four way angulation, particularly suited to longer borescope lengths up to 20 feet, is the largest body type borescope. The heart of a fibre optic system is the image carrying coherent fibre image bundle. State-of-the-art technology is evident in its borescope which contain image bundles compared up to 30,000 pixels for clearest, crispest image available. Machida offers a variety portable rugged video camera systems coupled simply to eyepiece of borescope. Video inspection system allows multiple views to particular inspection permitting documentation.
