Hydrated Magnesium Silicate has a perfect basal cleavage, and the folia are non-elastic, although slightly flexible. Magnesium Silicate finds use as a cosmetic [talcum powder], as a lubricant, and as filler in paper manufacture. Magnesium Silicate is also used as food additive or in pharmaceutical products. Hydrated Magnesium Silicate can be avaield in white to almost silver colour.
