Liquids especially wet the pipe walls and tend to glue the solid in the line thus creating deposits which result in increased pressure drop and reduced transmission efficiency.
Liquid droplets are filters in two stages, first stage separators and second stage high efficiency vane mist eliminator.
These units are capable of removing 99% of all solids and liquid particles of one micron and larger size the pressure drop is extremely low, although it depends on the operating conditions and by the type of filter element used.
No maintenance is required other than occasional element changes.
Depending upon operating conditions the life of the element can last from six months to one year.
