It is essentially resistant to dust, humidity and oil in industrial environment as it functions electromagnatically. Apart from proximity detection it is also used for distance measurement with analogue types. It saves energy. It is very economical and available in wide range of packages. These specifications have increased the use of the product. These are available in standard process control protocol viz 4-20 ma/0-10 v output proportional to target distance. These switches have some unique features including sensing distance, linearity error 3 per cent, hysteresis 3-5 per cent, repeatability 0.02 mm, temperature drift 3 per cent over operating range and ambient temp range 0-70 c. |
