| Esi group provides pam-quikcast - a fast and efficient solution for casting process evaluation. These pam-quikcast give the user to simulate the entire casting process from filling to solidification, including defects prediction. It also allows for the simulation of arbitrarily defects prediction and then for the simulation of arbitrarily complex shapes. Its validated technology is based on powerful solvers with efficient self-correction features, which result in comprehensive realistic results with high mesh independence. Highlights: automatic surface discretisation and cad in interface; automatic volume block-structured mesh generation; easy numerical model definition and databases; gravity casting; low pressure die casting; and high pressure die casting. Some of the significant features: semi-solid material processing - based on the initial work conducted at wpi and industrial validation from aluminium pechiney, a specific module is available to model the flow of aluminium and magnesium semisolid alloys; and core blowing - pam-quikcast can also be applied for the simulation to simulate the sand flow inside the cavity and gassing, enabling the user to optimise the quality of core production.
