Renishaw metrology systems supplies a range of scanning systems for finished component or tool production. These scanning packages offer easy to use software allowing rapid job set-up, automatic unmanned scanning and scanned data manipulation.
the salient features are
-output for cad/cam systems and comprehensive cam software for creation of cnc programmes.

- easy installation ensures minimum disruption to production schedule;
- compatible with a wide range of cnc controllers;
- can be quickly interchanged between machines;
- allows rapid job set-up and fully automatic process requiring no manual intervention.
the system works by taking the output from the scanning probe and calculating the surface coordinates and machine positioning commands. After each incremental move the probe stylus deflection is evaluated and a new target position calculated and sent to the cnc via the rs 232 link from the pc. The data is then stored in the pc.
