Sandvik asia has introduced new range of easy-to-machine stainless steels, sanmac. . The high machinability of sanmac stainless steels has been attained without compromising important properties like corrosion resistance and strength. The company has also enhanced a special cutting tool range along with sanmac stainless steels to optimise cutting parameters and reduce tooling costs. Sanmac is made under optimised process and production parameters in order to optimise non-metallic inclusions in it. Along with sulphides, which aid free machining, sanmac contains oxide inclusions that enhance chip breaking and reduce tool wear. Sanmac is beneficial due to following :

- consistent product quality;
- machining at high cutting speeds with excellent results;
- cutting tools last much longer;
- increased production security; and
- long series production with the same cutting data.
Sanmac come either in solid bar or hollow bar. It provides additional benefits like less machining, and shorter processing cycles when used as hollow bar.
