| Vijay energy products launches a new range of energy saving, passive infra-red lighting control systems, in association with rd electricals of uk. These are designed to ensure that lights/air conditioners are switched off when the rooms/offices/common areas like stair cases, washrooms, etc, are not in use, offering excellent payback period. Generally lights are not switched off when a room is unoccupied. This not only wastes energy but also increases day-to-day running costs and ultimately affects profit margins. The detectors are activated by body heat and sound, and will keep the lighting on in a detection area of about 5 m diameter while the area is occupied. If no movement and sound is detected for a pre-selected period, the lights/air conditioners are switched off. The detectors also ensure that lighting which hitherto proved difficult to control by conventional methods can be controlled.
