| Suhner has manufactured model gem 12 with latest concept of tapping known as differentials drive system with master lead screw system and tapping unit. The tapping units are available with working principle such as system consisting of lead screw and a nut as similar to a conventional lead system. The leads screw is coupled to the spindle providing a linear motion as well as rotation for the spindle. The nut on the lead screw is also rotating through drive coming from the set of gears that defines the pitch of the threads to be cut finally. The spindle has variable speed, which is varied by suhner patent frequency converter and electronics. Potentiometer controls the linear distance traveled and the feedback is also taken out of it. The model gme12 tapping units offer advantages such as flexibility and fast change over in machine set up, thus eliminating longer set up times of the lead system. The company supplies other range of products including self feeder drilling units with up to 28 mm capacity, high speed drilling units with up to 40000 rpm speed, tapping units with up to m20 tap capacity, and multispindle heads and units for boring, milling, chamfering, reaming and counter-sink applications.
