| Suhner provides flexible shaft machine - rotofera 7-speed. Manufacturers of stainless steel equipment use flexible shaft grinders more than the electric power tools to save the armature burn-out cost. Single speed flexible shaft machines are used virtually everywhere. While 2800 rpm was relevant in those days when depressed centre wheels were not popular, higher speeds have become necessary of late. Especially, in finishing ss, the roughing operations like use of abrasive flap wheels require speeds like 3000-6000 rpm. Whereas, deburring with carbide cutters are done at around 12,000 rpm. But buffing or brushing operations need speed below 3000 rpm. Suhner rotofera has speeds ranging from 850 to 12,000 rpm in steps. Speed adjustment is simple through the use of a selector knob engaging different sets of gears. Combined with a suhner flexible shaft and a variety of tool holders including the bsk brush that makes satin finish easy, rotofera is a genius.
